Douglas Fir Beams and Dimensional Lumber

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Douglas Fir is recognized for its superior strength-to-weight ratio and has the highest ratings of any western softwood for extreme fiber stress in bending. It has the ability to season well in place because of its natural dimensional stability. Douglas Fir works well with power tools and can be painted or stained as needed. It has the ability to hold nails and screws as well as glue.

Beam dimensions: approx. 4"x6" to 12"x12" in lengths 8'-10'-12'-14'-16'-18'-20'; please contact us for larger/longer beam pricing and availability. Beams will be #1 and Better, rough sawn, recently cut, partially air dried wood.   Could have occasional blemishes from drying sticks, weathering, etc. .  No samples available.  These can be surfaced four sides (s4s) for an additional charge ($.85/lb.); some product photos show s4s surfaced timbers.

Lumber dimensions: these 1x_ and 2x_ products are 11/16" or 1-7/16"  thick in mixed random lengths 8'-16'.  They are a very nice "C and better" grade, surfaced four sides (s4s), and kiln dried.   We can further mill these products into many different T&G patterns for ceiling, walls, flooring, roof decking, etc.
